Ride-hailing apps

What each service covers and what a city trip costs.

Grab

24/7 · citywide
Car: 70 – 250 ฿ Bike: 35 – 100 ฿

The most reliable option late at night, with the fare fixed before you book.

Bolt

24/7 · Pattaya & Jomtien
Car: 60 – 220 ฿ Bike: 30 – 90 ฿

Usually cheaper than Grab; fewer drivers south of Jomtien.

inDrive

24/7 · citywide
Car: 50 – 200 ฿ Bike: 30 – 80 ฿

You propose a fare and drivers accept or counter-offer.

Baht bus (songthaew)

24/7 · Beach Road loop
Car: 10 – 20 ฿ per ride

The blue-and-white pickups run a fixed loop along Beach Road and Pattaya Second Road — no app needed.

Baht buses and street taxis

  • A baht bus along Beach Road or Second Road costs 10 – 20 ฿ — just flag it down and hop in the back, no haggling.
  • From Beach Road up to Jomtien or Naklua the fare rises to 30 – 50 ฿; agree the price before you get in.
  • Chartering a baht bus for a private run is 100 – 200 ฿ inside Pattaya, more for Wat Yan or Silverlake.
  • Motorbike taxis (win) wait at most corners and Soi Buakhao — 30 – 80 ฿ for short hops, and the fastest way through traffic.

App fares are checked against the baht bus first: for a short hop the 10 ฿ bus beats a 70 ฿ car. After midnight baht buses stop on the Beach Road loop and apps are your main option.

Fares are estimates for normal traffic and can change with surge pricing, tolls and weather.

Common mistakes

  • Overpaying for baht bus rides
  • Judging the city by Walking Street alone
